My weekend was pretty much spent workin' on Children's church props. The secretary at the church wanted me to do what would look like the inside of the tree house. She asked me to do this before the Assembly in August but I haven't had a chance to until now. So I took foam insulation boards that were 8' x 4' and cut them in to 8' x 1' boards. I used a dark brown spray paint to paint wood grain and then painted a light brown wash over it. This is one I'm workin' on. Can't really tell right now...but it will look like wood after some work.

Took me a few boards but I got a technique down that looked the closest to wood planks. That took ALL day Saturday. I worked until about 9:30pm to get the panels done. Then I had to pack them into my Ford Focus...HA!...to take them up to Roberts. That was fun. I spent about 3 hours hanging the boards. I had to cut some of them but not done yet. I have to make base boards and windows on each side of the back wall. I'll also have to make something for the projector to shine on when they do worship for children's church. I want to do the frame of the roof and put tree branches hanging over that. I'll probably have to hang that out of the ceiling and not sure how I'm gonna hang the roof frame. I have ideas. Just gotta make them happen.

Tonight Courtney had to do a Social Studies project. We made food Civil War soldier ate. Wow...that stuff is NASTY!! She made
Johnny Cakes, which are like corn bread cookies that are really salty, and she made
Hardtack which is supper gross. It's a very hard cracker. Soldiers called them teeth dullers and that would be an accurate description. I 'bout chipped a tooth on one when I tried it.
