Weight Loss Goals

This Saturday I reached 30 pounds of weight loss. I was surprised. The night before we had a meeting about one of the camps at my Aunt Janice's and she prepared an awesome low cal dinner for everyone. I ate more calories than I should have in a day and didn't get my work out in. I even snuck in a sugar cookie. I wasn't going to be disappointed if I gained a pound but instead, when I weighed the next morning, I lost almost 2 to hit -30bls.

I have a pair of soccer shorts that I love. They have a draw string that I have to us but back in the summer...on the camping/rafting trip I went on, I didn't even have to use the draw string. I filled out those shorts with no problem, unfortunately. I wear them now and I have to tie them pretty tight to even keep them up. I can put them on and put both arms in them with room to spare. I wish I would've taken my measurements back then to see how many inches I've lost, but at the time, I didn't even want to know. The pants that were tight on me this summer and I refused to go up to another size...though I should have....are way too big now. I'll be glad never to see that size again. The size lower than that are starting to get loose on me. Nice problem to have.

Yesterday, Jeff was in work out mode. Church was cancelled due to icy roads up in Westmoreland so he got up and worked out for 2 hours solid. He did 8 miles of walking aerobics and then 2 miles of running. Later on that night, when I did the 5 mile workout, he did that with me, too. I did a 5 mile work out and then ran over 3 miles. Normally, I'll take a break and walk for 5 minutes at every mile I do, but I pushed myself to run 3 without stopping. So that's another goal reached. My next will be to run 4, no walk breaks. I'll probably continue to run 3 no breaks for a week or so to get used to it. I was sore this morning but I feel good.

Since there was no church yesterday, I took advantage of the time. I had some things on my check list that have been sitting there over the holidays. Some graphics projects for some churches and ministries that I've put off till after the holidays. Some things I need to get together for worship practices coming up. I had a very productive day and that felt good. Still have some things to accomplish but, knowing me, anytime I push past the tendency to procrastinate, I find a weight lifted off my shoulders.

Saturday we went to my pastor's wife's father's funeral. I can only imagine that is a very hard thing to loose your father. Though, I don't understand personally that heart break, I know the Lord does and His comfort and peace are very real in seasons of loss. My pastor spoke at the funeral and gave a beautiful message. We continue to pray for this family.

Courtney was able to spend a day shopping with her Aunt Sara and Grandma Jan. She loves to shop and probably doesn't get as much opportunity with me, since I loath it. HA! She had a great time and loves spending time with them.
