New Low / Hittin' the Track

Saturday morning weigh in and I lost two pounds....three if you count the pound I gained at the beginning of the week. It's a new low! When I loose down to my ideal weight...I may be brave enough to post just exactly how much I was when I started this journey. For now...not a chance.

The weather outside is awesome today. I put on my favorite soccer shorts/sweat shirt and headed to the track. I haven't had a chance to run outside on the pavement or track surface so I wanted to see how that would compare to the treadmill. Well...it's a little more difficult. My shorts kept riding up and then my under wear was riding down...so I had two things happening at the same time that were causing me to run in a weird fashion. Not sure why that doesn't happen when I run on the treadmill. Luckily there was only one lady out on the track with me. The wind was cold and blowing in my eyes, so they were watering so bad I couldn't see very good. So I'm wiping my face, pulling my shorts down and my underwear up...in as discreet a manner as possible. I looked precious I'm sure. After one time around the track running...I decided I'd have to find something different to wear if I'm going to do this in public...so I don't look like a complete idiot. I went ahead and power walked two miles. Then, I ran the bleachers, which was surprisingly easier to do...as far as my clothing situation.

Here's a way to help you eat smaller portions when you go out. We went to Black Eyed Peas last night. It's one of the places we can go that has a good selection of veggies and grilled meats. I ordered the pork chops, mash potatoes (yeah...I was hungry for them), and broccoli. If you get veggies like broccoli or a medley, ask them not to put butter on them. Most of the time they do. My meal came with two chops so what I do is ask for a to go box before I start eating. I put one of the chops, half the mashers, and half the broccoli into the to go and set it aside. What's left is a good portion size and I don't over eat. They bring bread to the table so if you struggle with eating something that's set in front of you, ask them not to bring it. I've gotten to where most of the time...note...most of the time...HA...I can say no to bread if it's in front of me. I eat what's on my plate and then at the end, I'll have one piece of bread if I'm not full. Today...I ate the other half of my meal for lunch.
