I'll Have A Side of Salmonella With That....

Jeff, Court, and I went to Back Yard Burger on Monday night in Hendersonville. They were donating all proceeds to Courtney's school, so Courtney asked if we could go. She thought she may see some friends there. We drove up and the place is hoppin'. There were a lot of younger kids from her school there, in which her reply was, "Oh...it's just a bunch of 3rd graders." I laughed. I remember feeling so much older than the early elementary kids when I was her age. She was obviously feeling more mature than those little 3rd graders. :)

So we go in and stand in a long line. Jeff and I ordered crispy chicken sandwich combos and we sit down. They bring the food out to you. Jeff had eaten to the mid point of his sandwich...I'm still on the outside. He turns his sandwich around to show me a pink translucent patch of chicken. Yup...it was raw. At first I thought it might be fat...but I touched it and you could tell. He takes it up to the counter and a manager comes out to smooth things over. We weren't mad so we just laughed about it and she gave us a free combo. Then as I bit off a little more of my sandwich...it was obviously raw as well. I was hoping Jeff's sandwich was an isolated incident. Mine was worse. Only the top layer of the chicken was even done. Made me feel somewhat nauseous. Jeff said...we could die from citronella! I said...yeah...but we'll sure repel the misquotes! Bad....bad joke. :) (In case you don't know Jeff...he was using citronella to be sarcastic.) :) The guy behind use had a raw sandwich, too. Somebody was in a hurry in the back. Since I'm not in the hospital or dead...I can laugh about it but that is kinda dangerous. My life rests in the hands of some pimple faced teen who decided to rush the whole chicken frying process.

The weekend wasn't laid back like normal. I had to work on designing some stuff for work. I was gettin' very frustrated because it seemed like I couldn't for the life of me see what it was they were wanting for this. I researched and played with some layouts but in the end...I was embarrassed to show the concepts anyone at work. I've been feeling like my job has just sucked all the creativity out of me lately. Where I don't design stuff everyday and for the most part just deal with prepress...I don't get to exercise my design skills as much. I've been feelin' less than inspired. It all finally came together though and one of the crappy comps ended up leading into a nice cover for their proposal. I'm so glad that all worked out and I feel a little more confident, in that I haven't completely lost my creative juices.

Had a client come in yesterday to get some consulting about a design project. They were there for quite awhile working with my supervisor and the conversation goes into photo touch ups. Me and my supervisor share an office so I could hear and see what was going on. The client goes through some changes and then asks my supervisor to look at a certain pic and to touch up her breast because it's squished against something. She goes into detail, showing him where and how and why this is happening...I audibly gasped out loud. I know...before you think or say it...I am immature. HA! I shouldn't have gasped but it was a reaction and not a planned thing. The conversations was so serious it was funny...and me knowing my supervisor...knew he was doing all he could to hold it together. Plus...how uncomfortable is that to do photo editing on some lady's breast and there she sits. Making motions with her hands and.....HA! I sat in my seat and closed my eyes...praying that Jesus would please please please keep me from laughing out loud! Had she not be so serious...it would not have been so funny...but geeeeesss!!
