It's in full force. It's 24/7 and is basically miserable, but I'm thankful. I know...that sounds completely weird. It's definitely worth the misery. Feeling sick makes me feel like everything is developing and healthy with the baby. So it's a love hate relationship with morning sickness right now.
Up until Friday...I was able to keep everything down. Friday night....woo. Not so good. Every night since then, I've been fighting it. Sometimes I think I would just feel better if I didn't fight it. But I HATE throwing up with a passion. Not that anyone likes to toss their cookies but I think I'm on the extreme end of a hate for it.
When I wake up...I actually feel really good. By the middle of my morning routine...I feel like I've run a marathon and I have to go lay down for a couple of minutes and will myself back up to get ready for work. I go to bed pretty early...especially for me. I'm a night owl. I normally stay up till 12 or 1am each night. It's been several weeks since I've seen 12 or 1am. A couple of weeks before finding out I was pregnant...I had already noticed it harder to stay up late. I was also really tired at work and my normal cup of coffee to wake me up in the afternoons wasn't working. Thought it was the obnoxious heat wave.
I don't like eating right now...at all. I pretty much make myself. The thought of food....ew. The longer I go without food, though, the more sick I feel. For awhile...the only thing I could stomach was baked potatoes or fries. Now the thought of a baked potato is disgusting. The food preferences change daily. Eating a plain biscuit or toast in the morning helps. By the time dinner comes around...I feel like I don't wanna eat anything. That's probably the reason nights are much worse. For dinner I'll eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a small bowl of Captain Crunch.
So far, I've lost 9 pounds. I've gotten to the lowest number on the scales since starting the diet last fall. Just for the record...I'm not trying to diet while pregnant...or trying to loose weight...it's just happening thanks to the tiny portions of food. I lost about 16 pounds with Courtney due to morning sickness. I think I'll have a little more than a month left of feeling like this and then hopefully...I'll get to feeling much better in my second trimester.
Here's a pic of what the little gummy bear looks like this week:
