Speed Of Light

Really? It's March. What happened to January and February? Ok...so here's the scoop. We've been...yeah...busy. HA!

Last weekend we worked with other state staff, children's and youth, to hold the first TN Youth Harvest Training. Instead of retyping what I posted on the Camp Hickory Hills blog, if you would like, just go to:
http://camphickoryhills.blogspot.com/ and read about it.

Next, we're preparing for another 1NiGHT youth lock-in. That is coming up next weekend. Can't believe it's already here. Always fun and gives a safe place for kids to come hang out with us.

After that, we'll be preparing to go to Costa Rica for a mission trip to build a church/multipurpose building. Here's the blog if you'd like to read up on what we'll be doing. I think the author of that blog will be giving updates on projects and what we'll be doing there. I plan on taking a lot of pictures. Courtney is really excited. She's going to help with VBS and children's ministry while down there. Jeff and I will be helping with the building project and I'll be in and out of VBS as well. Here's the blog for this:

On the weight loss update, back on track finally. As I said before...marriage retreat was a diet killer. Took us a while to bounce back from that but we finally did it. When I weighed this morning...I hit an all time low. I was SO excited. It's been three weeks of no progress. Jeff also hit an all time low this morning. He's down to loosing 70lbs. It's amazing. So proud of him! I've lost over 40.

Courtney has signed up to try out for middle school cheerleading. And I laugh at the thought of being a "cheer mom" but if this is what she wants. This is an 11 month sport with practices, games, and gymnastics...in various combinations, three days a week. They go to competitions and have three cheer camps during the summer. The middle school she goes to feeds into Hendersonville High School, which is very competitive on the national level. They have been on ESPN and all that cheer stuff....won competitions nationally...etc. I don't know all the stats...but I know they are good. So the middle school takes this seriously. She will go to training in a couple of weeks to learn some cheers and a dance and then she will have to try out in front of judges. The lady over the program said basically...your life revolves around this sport. You plan vacations around it. You plan your weekly schedule around it. Your life revolves around it. Oh boy. I want her to do this if this is what she wants but, we've expressed to her with much emphasis...this isn't playing around. This is commitment for our entire family.
