Courtney Update - March 2010

Courtney is in cheerleader training all week for Ellis Middle. I took her to have her sports physical on Saturday. She had to do that and have all her paper work filled out by the Dr.'s office. We both got Tetanus shot updates since we're going on the mission trip in a few short weeks. I haven't had one in forever and she hasn't had one recently either...so just wanted to take precautions since we'll be working in a building site. She was a trooper and laughed the whole way through the shot. I remembered this being one of the more painful injections...and both of our arms have been pretty sore the last couple of days but it's gotten better.

She learned a cheer and dance yesterday. Today she practiced those more and brought home a DVD to help her practice for try outs on Thursday. She'll do a mock run through tomorrow. She's been practicing since she got home. She said there are about 20 girls trying out and I believe there are 12 spots open? She was excited because she learned how to do a back hand spring today....with a spotter. She wanted to show me but I imagined her landing on her neck...so I persuaded her not to do that here at the house without the gymnastics teacher. HA!

Court kinda struggled with her grades the last couple 9 weeks. Nothing bad...just C's in areas where she's normally aced subjects. I know that had a lot to do with the change from elementary school to middle. Everything is different. She buckled down hard and worked hard through it and brought all her grades up to A's and B's with the exception of one C. That is great!
