The weekend was busy...as posted below. Friday night I came home after work and went to eat. Cody flew in from Kansas to come to 1NiGHT on Wednesday, so he was here with us. Jeff being who he is, was pretty stressed because the Lock-In was that night. He's pretty tense until events get under way and everything is going good. He had his schedule to follow so we were to eat, be back at the house at a certain time, and then head to the civic center for the lock-in. We went to Cracker Barrel first and it didn't look crowded at all but after Jeff and Cody got in there we found that it would be a 20 minute wait. This made Jeff nervous so he wanted to go somewhere quicker. At this point, I didn't know what to eat. I kinda had my heart set on french toast. (Yeah...breakfast for dinner.) So we left and I said I didn't care where we went...but he kept asking where to go. This became a point of frustration during a stressful time. HA! We ended up at Shoney's because Cody had never been to a Shoney's before. I'm convinced that Shoney's is the armpit of Hendersonville but we went thinking it would be quick. WRONG. We got there and there was one chic waiting on the entire left side of the restaurant. We could tell this was gonna take a while when she went around apologizing to every table. She finally got to us and took our order by memory...which...I'm always impressed if a waiter can actually remember everything. I knew we were in trouble when she couldn't remember what we had to drink. About 45 minutes later and many apologies to neighboring tables...Jeff was about to bounce outta the booth. He was biting his finger nails and his eye brows were to his hair line...which is high. Her apologizing to every table for the poor service was getting old. She apologized to one table 4 times...and proceeded to blame it on everyone but her. Lame. Then she brought up that she had served a lady at that table before and pointed out that the service during her last visit was poor, too. This waitress was borderline brilliant. Finally got our food and it was cold and some of it burned. Yeah...Shoney's has definitely been confirmed as the armpit of Hendersonville.
Saturday after sleeping an entire day to recoop from the lock-in we got ready and went to Joe's Crab Shack, a tradition when Cody is down, where we had another winner of a waiter. He just seemed uninterested and indifferent. Cody was asking for ranch, ketchup, and coctail sauce...and the waiter interupted him at ketchup and said..."Yeah...yeah..hold on, I'll get it." Wha...huh? The food was great as usual. Service...ehhh. Customer service must be headed down the same road as this country.
Sunday was church and then a baby shower. I was told by my friend it started at 2. I showed up for the shower at 2pm along with my friend Sarah...and Jacque was in her gown. I asked, "Is the shower now?" only to be told it was at 4pm. HA! So went home and watched Twilight until it was time to head back over.
Oh...speaking of Twilight...I preordered the deluxe DVD set from Amazon a few months ago. I didn't know if it would deliver on Saturday or Monday but surprisingly it came in on Friday afternoon. A day before release! I got a text from Jeff's phone saying..."Your DVD came in but one of the discs is broken. Sorry baby." First...I was ticked that Jeff would open up my package. Second...I was ticked that my disc was broken. Then I thought about it. Jeff never opens my mail or my packages. It was at that time I figured it was Cody trying to aggravate me. In my head though I kept goin' over...what if Jeff did open my package. That's so not cool. But is it really that big a deal. No...and yes....it's just really not cool to open someone elses stuff. HA! I got home and the package was opened but the DVD still had the overwrap on it. Cody opened it...but was tryin' to aggravate me. Little dork. He loves to torture me. It's like having a little brother around all over again. I ended up getting the DVD for cheaper than what I orinally bought it for. Amazon dropped the price when the DVD ended up being cheaper than what they predicted. I didn't have to fight the madness and I got it for cheaper. Sweet deal. Cody encoded it so he could have a copy for himself so now I have it on my iPod too. It's mobile. What could be better. HA! How old am I...ask again.
