We're trying to stream line the food ordering process. It's a huge responsibility for the Allens who are the care takers of the camp ground. Their job is year round so we want to make their job as easy as possible. We are trying our best to make everything a smooth and efficient process. I'm thankin' Jesus for mine and Jeff's business experience.
Stuff I've been workin' on this week administratively and graphically once I get home from work
1DAY - Camp Workers Retreat:
A 24 hour camp workers retreat where staff for the upcoming 2009 camping season receive info and staff training. We do a service on Friday night and seminars and classes on Saturday, closing out with a consecration service.
1NiGHT Annual Youth Lock-In:
Youth lock-in held 3rd weekend of March. Jeff and his friend Robby started it 2 years ago and it's been a great success. It's a non-denominational lock-in at the local sports center. The kids really enjoy it. Notice we have a 1Day (dedicated to Victor Rodriguez who started the first one) and a 1NiGHT. Jeff had the thought of calling it 24HOUR ministries.
Camp Hickory Hills: New logo | Branding
As far as I know, the camping ministry has never been branded. I've been layin' out T-Shirt designs and letterhead.
Facebook and MySpace have been great tools in getting info out. I've definitely been utilizing them. I've spent a lot of time on them both this week updating the 1NiGHT MySpace site and getting out bulletins and event invites.
Sunday after church we have a lunch meeting at the church with the parents of the middle school and high school youth. Jeff's going to go over what he's been teaching on Wednesday nights and go over what his goals are as youth pastor at Roberts. Pastor Tim thought it'd be a good idea to get the parents involved in what he's doing.
Weekend after this one, we go to marriage retreat in Pigeon Forge. Our pastor encouraged us to go and wanted to get a group of young marrieds from our church to attend as well. That will be fun. Didn't go last year but we did a couple of years ago. There's a lot of people across the state that come and we'll get to see. The retreat is based off Fireproof the movie. It's on Valetine's Day weekend so that will be a nice Valentine's getaway.
At the end of the month we're off to Vegas. It will be a welcome vacation. We've got our hotel and flights booked...now we're just waiting on the Nascar tickets and we're trying to decide what show we wanna see. We've been advised to try a Cirque show..and we're interested in David Cooperfield. My mother-in-law is sending us to a show and she informed us that she wouldn't pay for any of those "naked" show. HA! And I was so hoping to see some nakedness in Vegas. (note sarcasm)
