I am in a houseful of sick people. Well...there are only two other people besides me but still...it's the majority. :) I just took Jeff some Nyquil and tucked him in with an extra blanket. No...this isn't some impostor. I actually had compassion on my husband and his body aches. Of course...I made fun of him while I was tucking him in. I asked if he wanted me to call his momma so she could make him some soup. I could technically make soup. I could pop the top of one of the cans and throw it in the microwave. You know...encouraging stuff like that. :) Courtney is feeling better and went back to school today. She was having body aches and head aches, too. Looks like it only lasts a few days. They've gotta get over the crud before Friday. We fly out for Kansas then.
Had my weekly guitar lesson tonight. My guitar lessons are like Wednesday night church. They seem to just get in the way until you get there and actually learn something. Then you are glad you went. I've seen some improvement. I get frustrated when I can't play like my teacher but I step back and have to rationalize that he's been playing for years and I'm not going to sound like him. I can definintely play bar chords a lot better than when I first started out. Now I only hear sort of a plunk and not a complete PLUNK!!! It's gettin' there. Learning scales. I set down and watch TV and run through my scales till I get on my own nerves. I ran them for most of the Alabama game last Saturday. Amazingly...they still sound messy but they are getting better. He's teaching me to use the entire neck of the guitar and not just what was easy for me. Every week, I take in a song from the worship team's binder and he helps me work out all the transitions and helps me learn any new chords I may not know. He then shows me the easiest chord progression to use depending on the arrangement. So we'll go song by song till I know that entire binder.
