On a tangent...my finger nails have grown out nice and pretty and are as strong as steel. Thank you prenatal vitamins. But...they are getting on my nerves. I have to get used to typing with these things or bite them off. One or the other.
I'm sitting at my office desk and all I can think about is cute little Jaden. I had the worst time sleeping last night because I dreaded this morning so bad. I dropped him off at Jacques...kissed him good bye and made it to my car before the water works started. Gees! And they continued all the way to work.
The funny thing is, when I first got married...the last thing I wanted to be was a stay at home mom. Courtney was going into Kindergarten so it wasn't even in my head with her. What I wouldn't give to be one now. It's been nice to keep the house semi up and it's been nice to be home when Courtney gets off the bus. It's been an answer to prayer to take care of my little miracle, Jaden. And he'll be there when I get home. It feels like I gave him up for good, when I dropped him off this morning. My dramatic hormones and emotions aren't helping.
I'm trying to figure out how the whole nursing thing is going to work. There's not really a private place to pump here so I'm wondering what to do...if I should keep nursing him or just go to all formula. I don't want to give it up. Courtney is mortified at the idea of breast feeding. She turns and walks the other way when I'm nursing Jaden. Ha! I told her, one day, you'll understand. I love the bond you have with your baby when you're nursing them. No pun intended.
Anyway...this too shall pass. In the meantime...my mother-in-law is having a blast on her first day with him. She emailed me the below update to keep me informed of what he's doing this morning:
- Changed dirty diaper (didn't cry)
- Peed on grandmama while changing diaper (probably why he didn't cry)
- Went outside on the porch so Bella could go potty and smiled the whole time
- Played until 8:10
- Rolled over in my lap onto his stomach so he could see Bella and thought that was really funny
- Loves his swing with the lights that I have on the floor in here with me
- Noticed the little bright animals hanging on the side in the swing that move when it rocks and kicked and swung his arms and made an "O" face
- Sound asleep and snoring within 5 minutes of getting in the swing
- Okay, so I was going to put him in his bed when he went to sleep but why risk waking him and it's fun to listen to him
I told Jaden he was not allowed to do anything cute or for the first time when I'm not with him. He's already disobeyed the "Don't do anything cute" rule. Sigh.
