15 Weeks and a Heart Beat

Monday I went for my second prenatal visit. I got to meet my Dr. and she explained the practice and their procedures. The good part...I got to hear the heart beat. :) It made me immediately smile and it made my heart so happy. Since I'm delivering at Vanderbilt, I agreed to allow the med students come in and do what they do. The Dr. gives you the option to have them there or not. I say, if I can help be part of the learning process for the next generation of Dr.'s then I'm all for it. By the time we get to delivery, I have no dignity left. I felt like the whole hospital was coming in to check me out when I had Courtney. :) There's a point where you just stop caring and modesty just flies out the window.

Jeff was originally going to go with me Monday. He's trying to save all his personal days and sick days to take off for major Dr. visits and when the baby comes. We weren't sure if we'd get to hear the heart beat this time so after some careful consideration, he decided to save this day to give him more days with the baby when it arrives. When I heard the heart beat, I wished he would have been there. But it was ok. I called him as soon as I left the Dr.'s office. He was disappointed he missed it and asked me what it sounded like. I thought I did a pretty good interpretation of it. HA!

I go November 9th for the ultra sound to find out if we're going to be buying pink or blue. I'm so excited. That seems like forever away...even though I know it will be here before we know it. I'm hoping for a boy. I've had dreams about a little boy and we think we have a boy name all picked out but if it's not...of course...I'm not going to complain. I will be beyond thankful for him or her.

The morning sickness is fading this week. Let's hope it departs for good. Energy is continuing to return. My pants are getting tighter and tighter in the belly. Still baggy everywhere else. I've gained about 5 pounds. Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get some new pants. I put on one of my favorite medium t-shirts...and it was fine everywhere but the belly. Looked like I had stuffed myself in there. Made me laugh. I had just worn that shirt a couple weeks ago. I don't notice any changes until I put clothes on. Still not enough belly to notice yet. People who know that I am pregnant have said they see it. I'll start taking belly pics soon.
